Princess Blanket

Besides bringing her 'kak-kak' and Oscar to bed everynight, Sarah's next favourite pal.. Princess!

I like.. i love..

She'll shed tears everytime she watches Barney sing, or when Ernie/ Cookie Monster/ Big Bird sings.. You'll think she's frightened of them, but ask Sarah why she cry, she'll say "i like. i love"

*sigh*

Weaning off "tutu"

Day 1:
(Tip of tutu was cut by abt 0.5cm)
When Sarah took it after it was cut, she remarked "wrong!" But she kept looking at it, putting it in her mouth, and removing it again witha puzzled look..

Day 2:
She kept using her finger to dig into the hole..

Day 3..6:
Still "wrong!" and fiddling with it

Day 7:
(Tutu was cut again)
The suckling motion and sound machiam not shiok liao.. Sarah'll nonchalently toss the pacifier around, occasionally putting it back for comfort..

Then it happened! Couple of days after that, Sarah fell slept without asking for her tutu! Now, abt 3 wks since then (took so long coz the parents didn't really push her hard enough to quit *opps*), Sarah falls asleep easily without the pacifier. The parents still keep the tutus by the bed, just in case of whiny emergencies. But the parents know that its really not needed anymore :)

Self drinking success!

Sarah's first attempt to drink from an open cup, and not a single spill! It was well co-ordinated and she didn't choke. Mummy has to remind herself that Sarah is not a baby anymore, and is always observing and learning from the things she sees. Maybe Daddy will let Sarah have the car keys tomorrow.. ;D

Chatter chatter!

Sarah has been speaking up to four-syllabus sentences for a while now i.e. "Mooornin Ma-mi". Getting her to increase it to five-syllabus has been quite trying for her; She'll try to repeat, sometimes will sutter at certain phrases, but she's always determined to parrot the words again.

Yesterday, Sarah managed to say the following five-syllabus without help
- "Gud-moooornin Ma-mi"
- "Oh-most fi-nish-in" during dinner-time

Well-done Sarah!

Playgroup

Sarah started playgroup on 05 Jan this year. For the 1st 3 days, the toddlers parents/ guardians were allowed to join in the playgroup to help the toddlers (& teachers!) transition.
Day 1: Cried a little when she saw other kids crying. Luckily grandpa was there to pacifiy her. She cried again when grandpa 'disappeared' from sight for a couple of minutes. Sarah came home with a 'scar' on the face; apparently a boy used a block to poke her cheek.
Feedback from grandpa was that the playgroup was chaotic and terribly run.. Teachers did not seem well prepared or coordinated either

Day 2: No crying at all. But Sarah was still a little clingy to grandpa, wanting him to do everything with her. She occasionally joined the other classmates in their games.
Feedbck from grandpa was that the teachers just left the toys and let the toddlers explore it themselves. No proper guidance was given. Minimal attention was given to the rest if there was a toddler crying, and a teacher will be carrying the wailing toddler through the entire playtime.

Day 3
: No crying at all. She was practically nonchalent to the other toddlers. Sarah was a good girl; She did everything the teacher said, she interacted and played with the toys, and even sat next to the teacher during story-telling time (& all the toddlers were supposed to be sitted on the floor!). Sarah didn't even notice grandpa exiting the centre for 15 minutes!
Feedback from grandpa was that the teachers were more organised today. However, it was observed that the teachers did not practice sanitary procedures strictly and was not able to cope with teaching the toddlers how to play the toys and manage the little ones' tantrums, as well as the floor was terribly dirty/ dusty.

Day 4 onwards: Grandpa will not longer be allowed to sit in the class from today onwards. Hopefully Sarah will manage the independant mode well.. *fingers crossed*

Sleepy Head

In the wee hours of the morning, bed-head Sarah sneaked out to sit at her table to play..
