My First Lunar Birthday

三月二十二日
Our little girl is officially one year old according to the Lunar Calendar. Well, she's not so little anymore now.. From a tiny hapless infant a year ago, Sarah can now crawl, walk, blabber, imitate, point, poke, laugh, smile, grin, tease, make faces, fake expressions, kiss, wave, nod her head, squat, kneel and much much more!

Here's me in a new pair of PJ's the night before my big day

For the fun of it, some items were placed on the floor for me to choose. The old saying noted that the first items chosen were to be my inclination in future. Here are some of the items the adults thought of:

And i chose them in the following order:

The adults intepreted that I may either
(1) become a doctor working for a noble cause in a 3rd world country; or
(2) become a venture capitalist helping less fortunate others; or
(3) become the next J. K. Rowling; or
(4) become a good conscientious lady like my mummy ;p
Anyway its just for fun. I don't wanna grow up.

I was "rewarded" with a BIG roasted duck drumstick from grandpa! Mummy and Jiu Jiu both had their share when they turned one. Now its my turn.. Yummy!

Next, I terrorised two helpless ang-ku-kuehs. I wanted to save them but the adults wouldn't let me eat them. This is me throttling them.

This is the aftermath

Lastly, the mee-suah!

I am officially a big girl now!

Keeping My Toys

When in the mood, Sarah will keep her toys as told..

As she is still young, instructions have to be repeated many many many times, in very very patient manner. That explains why some of us are becoming long winded around here ;)

Helping Out With Household Chores

Well, sort of.. *hee*

Catching Fish

Sarah tried catching the guppies today, instead she caught only seaweed!

24 April 2008

Coasters

Sarah kept going at this, trying to put all 6 coasters onto her left hand. Her motor skills are developing very quickly! See her using her left thumb to try to hold them in place. She tried many a time even though they kept falling off her little grip.

Finally after 10minutes, she finally succeeded in putting all of them on her left hand, with her thumb nicely holding them firmly!

Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See

Sarah loves reading books..!

She's more attentive day by day..

Too Fast Too Furious

Me and my shopping trolley.

P.S. I may look like I'm going to fall but I'm quite steady already. It's just daddy who's a scaredy cat! =)

Meanwhile this 9 sec video will have to do, till mummy re-takes, or at least buy a backup battery so that the full shopping trip around the house can be taken properly..

Busy Bee

See Sarah

1. busy moving the remote controls from one place to the other.

2. listen to instructions

3. signal "no more" with her right hand after she has moved all the remotes

4. being fussy, insisting on not putting the remote on top of the others

5. stall time to avoid going to bed

She went on and on and on, changing 'locations' at least 6 times. What a busy bee!

This is for my jiu jiu

Mummy says to just come home soon & play with me, instead of viewing my progress on the blog. "I MISS YOU!" Yes, I promise to say the word "air-per" when you give me one. Meanwhile, enjoy my "ber-naa" =)..

Bedtime

Now that Sarah is older and is beginning to understand language and instructions, mummy will usually "ask" Sarah if she wants to go to bed, instead of simply carrying her straight to bed. And if she wants to nap, Sarah will walk into mummy's arms, otherwise she'll quickly turn left right and avoid mummy like madness! Most of the time its the latter.

Last night was no different. And after our usual countdown to "5 minutes left dear", mummy had no choice but to ask Sarah if she wants to go to bed again while cornering her.

Like a playful child, she does not fancy being cornered and determined not to sleep, she went on all fours to crawl away from mummy. But her path was blocked by mummy's arms. A true fighter, she "pa" onto the floor on her tummy, and attempted to wriggle under mummy's arms!

Sarah is getting to be full of tricks!! :)

Talk talk talk

Mummy takes out a fruit and shows it to Sarah.
Mummy: "Sarah, what is this?"
Sarah pauses, and her facial expression reflects that she is thinking very hard
Mummy: "Sarah, tell mummy what is this?"
Sarah: "Air-per"
Mummy is definitely caught by surprise
Mummy: "Sarah, what is this again?"
Sarah: "Airrr-per"

Grandma doesn't believe mummy at all, and thinks that she is deaf and hearing things. So grandma decides to test Sarah herself.
Grandma: "Sarah, can you tell grandma what is this?"
Sarah: "Air-per"

Ta-dah!
Mummy's not deaf.
Grandma's hearing is perfect.
Sarah's second official word is apple.

Everyone is delighted that the umpteen times of repeating the word "apple" to Sarah has really paid off!

Papa was busy and his hands and legs were not mobile to capture Sarah's facial expression. Shucks! Anyway, here's how her laughter sounds like.

Our little girl..

Sarah has the most stuff in our household even though she is still a baby. She has the most clothes, shoes, socks, swimsuits, bath n body creams, snacks, books, and toys! Daddy says his floor area is becoming smaller everyday. Today he had to give up his work shoes "parking lot" to Sarah because her wardrobe has run out of room for her shoes.
